Drew Wilen is an artist living in the Portland area and a graduate of the University of Southern Maine.
His work has been shown at the USM art gallery in Gorham, Casco Bay Frame, the Arts and Business Collaborative (ABC,) The Kitchen, Katahdin restaurant and at the artists own former Spring Street Studio. His work is also in several private collections throughout New England.
Drew Wilen's art is created from a variety of materials. The core is usually cut or carved paper forming the shapes upon which pigments and patinas are laid. Through his art Drew explores the interaction of media and gesture. His finished pieces capture the dialogue between the artist and the materials with which he works.
